Whilst watching the select committee coverage yesterday I did a few sketches of the Murdochs and Rebekah Brooks.
I’ve been meaning to add some maps to my portfolio for a while now, so thought I’d start with one of the village where I grew up. I’ve also included some images of my process.
I started with a very simple sketch that I drew on the DLR. When I got home I sketched out a few more elements that I planned to include in my map.
I then scanned this image in and build up the basic forms in Illustrator. blocking out the sections where I expected the text to lie.
Once I’d played around a bit with the composition I added the text and finally moved the finished image across to Photoshop to add the textures.
My Jellyfish illustration is now available as a skin for Grooveshark.com! You can choose to have my image as your background on your music player if you click on the ‘themes’ tab in the bottom right corner. I’m pretty sure its scientifically proven that looking at jellyfish while listening to music make you 34% happier.
