Having spent the majority of my uni days drawing and painting portraits I’ve been missing it recently. So I’ve been working on trying to combine portraits and my digital style, and I think I might finally have cracked it!
Here is Mr Charles Darwin - the main problem I was finding with my other attempts was that I was adding too much detail and shading on the face. I think with Charles I’ve kept in minimal enough so that it fits in with the style of the rest of the pic.
Anyway, here is a crop of the illustration and below is a preliminary sketch of Mr Darwin’s face. I’m planning to developing my portraits by doing more scientific / explorers / inventors soon.
